Essential Knowledge

What is this guide for?

This cheat sheet helps beginners quickly understand the full order of poker hands, especially when comparing who wins at showdown.

What is the highest hand?

Royal Flush is the strongest hand in Texas Hold'em.

What is the lowest hand?

High Card is the weakest result, used only when no player makes any stronger combination.

What should you compare first?

Always compare the hand category first. For example, any Flush beats any Straight.

What if two players have the same hand type?

Then you compare the card ranks inside that hand. If needed, the kicker decides the winner.

BEGINNER NOTES
A higher hand always beats any lower-ranked hand.
Suits are equal in value; no suit beats another.
The "Kicker" breaks ties within the same hand category.
QUICK TIPS
01.

Know your outs. Do not judge your strength by only looking at your two hole cards.

02.

Don't overplay pairs. A Pair is common, but it is not always strong enough to win.

03.

At showdown, the best five-card hand wins, not simply the highest single card.
